Book Description:

A self-help book for success at work! No Parking. No Halt. Success Nonstop! has 50 career lessons for today’s 20teen generation.
Practical and comprehensive, the book often stretches to the point of ‘cunning without harming’. Interspersed with quotes, stories and humour, it also breaks a few myths. The author treads the fine line between ethical and non-ethical. The author is able to convince the reader about the necessity for professional success.

Before reading, I was a bit skeptical about the book. Firstly, the title sounds like an advertising gimmick. Secondly, there are tons of books promising the success mantra, so I wasn’t sure if there’d be anything new. However, as I started reading, the author’s refreshing new point of view on some of the same old concepts, and his thorough analysis impressed me.

No Parking. No Halt. Success non-stop. has 50 career lessons assigned to every month of the year. Each month has around 4-5 lessons. The lessons are precise, and to the point. The author says what he means without wasting too much time on preamble.

The book starts with focus on individual development, and progresses with tips on increasing performance, and leadership skills. There are many instances where I don’t agree with the author, but his detailed explanation has enabled me to understand his reasoning.

The author, Abhishek Ratna, has a flair for writing in a non-preachy way. This is what makes the book more interesting, and fun along with imparting the necessary knowledge.

The book deals with every aspect of successful life like dealing with emotions, understanding people, and learning diplomacy, and negotiations. It is full of witty anecdotes, and micro stories which account for a pleasurable reading experience.

Few of my favourite quotes from the book:

Understand that success is not an accident, but a planned event.

The most effective way to bring about any change is to touch the hearts of the people who can bring that change.

No Parking No Halt Success Non-stop provides valuable information for professional development, and success. You should definitely read it, if you need help dealing with corporate life.
