Senryu

Senryu

deep distinct palm lines

covered with rough calluses—

a labourer’s fate.

*Senryu is a human haiku. Haiku is a Japanese poetry, which traditionally  follows a pattern of 5-7-5 syllables in three lines. While Haiku deals with nature, Senryu portrays human characters and emotions.
