The Transformation

Perfection might be an illusion; it doesn’t stop us from wanting to transform ourselves into something/someone we perceive as an ideal. So, when I heard about the web series The Transformation, I was intrigued. Here, transformation is not a hopeless dream, but something that can be achieved .

Tetley Green Tea in association with Jossbox.com have developed a one of a kind series which brings reality TV on the web. This 12 episode series will follow 19 contestants as they go from fat to fighting fit, changing their lives to achieve their coveted goal.

This is not the kind of weight lose regime, where people lose their health along with their weight. This unique project aims towards holistic change transforming body and life, where the contestants become fit for fighting. The contestants would learn how to eat, exercise, and incorporate comprehensive lifestyle changes resulting in a long-term success. “Eat right, train hard”–one of the maxims of the show says it all.

Do you know what it takes to train like a Thai boxer,Jiu jitsu fighter, and an athlete? Yeah, it’s going to be tough, and totally worth it. Every ounce of their will-power will be tested. Transformation doesn’t come easy; it has to be earned.

The show will feature 12 episodes and take place over 12 weeks at Bangalore’s state of the art Fitness Fight Club and Circuit Force, under expert trainers, and the chief instructor—an ex-boxer and army man—Austin Prakesh. The contestants of the show range from varied backgrounds: a musician, entrepreneur, make-up artist, RJ, an event manager, a food blogger, and many others.

The stakes are much higher than mere fitness. After 12 weeks, two winners are going to walk away with one lakh cash prize. Yup, someone will emerge not only healthier, but richer too. This is where lives change for the better.

The Transformation offers you a ringside seats to view the life-changing journey of these contestants as they fight through the vigorous obstacles, and the competition. You’ll be privy to their first attempt at boxing, their joys of surviving hardships, and their sorrows at elimination.

Why should you watch The Transformation:

Imagine 19 people turning their life inside out to achieve what they want. This kind of motivation is bound to rub on you.

Now, you don’t have to wonder what kind of food helps to stay fit. You can see for yourselves.

Contests bring out hidden traits in people—the good, the bad, and the ugly. So, a definite entertainment.

Reality web series means you get to watch the true stories in real time instead of scripted versions.

Need I say more? The show went live on 14th October 2015. Tune in to watch the live series on The Transformation, and for great tips on healthy eating, and exercise.

A walk in the dark

A walk in the dark
A dark night

She paid for the medicines, and left the chemist’s shop, which was opposite the bus stop. Until three months ago, when she travelled by bus, this was the same path she used. Her house was about fifteen minutes walk from here.

Today, she regretted sending away the auto-rickshaw as she traversed the familiar path. That incident changed every woman’s opinion of the area. The street no longer seemed safe.

Darkness had engulfed the entire lane, the dim street-lights barely providing enough light for her to see the road ahead. The shops in the area were closed for the night. Her mobile phone showed 10:30. It might as well be 12.30, she thought, staring at the pitch black night. Continue reading A walk in the dark

Once upon an evening sea

Once upon an evening sea

The shore:

As the evening set in, the boats turned towards the shore.

Soon, the coast filled with jolly fishermen, who boasted about their catch. All the colourful boats were brimming with mackerel, tuna, codfish.

All except one. Continue reading Once upon an evening sea

Hungry for education

Scene-1

Nima looked longingly at the school building, the kids rushing inside with their coloured backpacks. Her feet automaticaly moved in the direction of the school gate. She couldn’t decide between going to school, and to her mistress’s house. She wanted to study, to learn to read the books which told countless stories of great men of the world. However, she needed the work, her father was always ill, and mom couldn’t afford to feed their whole family. Her stomach growled, and the decision was made. Cleaning her mistress’s house might be exhaustive; it was a big house. There were many dishes she had to wash too, but there was leftover there, and she didn’t have to worry about food.

All through the washing, Nima dreamt that she was in her school with Lata playing, and talking about how she would be a Doctor when she would grew up. Then, she would treat people like her papa who didn’t have much money. The crash of the plate broke her reverie. She picked up the pieces, and tried to fix it. The glass cut through her little fingers, but she was worried more about how her mistress would react. She shivered at an earlier memory… Continue reading Hungry for education

Two kids playing in the park

Inblogger top postThe park seemed empty, he was early. He pulled down his cap to shield his eyes from the afternoon sun, as he looked around the park for a familiar face. Not finding anyone in the quiet park, he bounced his ball on the ground and tried to catch it. He missed it many times, and the ball rose high above his head; he jumped and still missed.

On the edge of the bench, not very far, sat another kid. When the first kid entered, it looked for a moment, this one would join him to play. He glanced at the other’s spotless blue shirt, pants, and matching shoes. He shook his head, and went back to digging the ground with his toe. He had dug a nice hole when a ball rolled near his toe. He hesitated, afraid of spoiling the smooth exterior of the ball with his rough, cracked hands. He saw suspicious eyes staring at him, and bent to pick the ball.
